It takes a while for the IRS to issue a letter of determination, so our tax exempt status is pending. Once that happens, our tax exempt status will be retroactive to the date of our incorporation, i.e., July, 2008. It is our understanding that you may take a tax write off in the year that you make the donation, even if our status is pending. We do strongly urge you, however, to consult with your own tax professional and follow his/her advice.
